In recent years, with the rapid development of large-scale infrastructure investment and industrialization in China, the output and consumption of aluminum profile in the whole industry of guide rail have increased rapidly, and China has become the largest aluminum profile production base and consumption market in the world. After nearly 10 years of rapid growth, China's aluminum industry has entered a new stage of development and displayed many new development trends.
In terms of production capacity distribution, about 95 countries and regions in the world were able to produce aluminum profiles in 2009, with more than 2,200 production enterprises. Among them, China accounted for more than 50% of the world's total production capacity, ranking first.
With the growth of global economy and the continuous expansion of aluminum profile use, global aluminum profile consumption increased from about 8.69 million t in 2001 to about 15.5 million t in 2009, with an annual compound growth rate of about 7.5%. Global consumption of aluminum profiles is expected to reach about 16.69 million tons in 2012.
From the perspective of region, the consumption in major regions of the world showed different trends in 2001-2009. China's consumption proportion rapidly increased, while Europe and North America showed a downward trend. By 2009, China accounted for 47% of global consumption, while Europe, North America and Japan accounted for only 21%, 8% and 6%, respectively. China has developed into a large consumer of aluminum profiles.
